MAT 312 Excel Lab 1 Emily Engh Wilmington University Health Insurance Premiums Across the Nation I currently work in the health insurance field and was interested in just how high or low other states compared to mine in premium amounts each month. The information researched was found through an article published by the website called KFF (Kaiser Family Foundation) This report focuses on the average health insurance premiums for all 50 states for year 2021. The data collected showed that the average states are paying to have health insurance is $477.46 a month. The median price for premiums is $459 a month. The mode found to have five different prices that occurred. $436, $457, $476, $347, $479. The bar graph below shows the data at the highest point near the median and decreasing from the $500s. The highest average premium amount was found in the state of Wyoming at $881 and lowest average premium paid was found in the state of Minnesota at $307. This range was $574. The standard deviation was 109.22. The Histogram shows that almost half the states have an average health insurance premium in the $400s.
