MidTerm essay All this talk about the coming death of Netflix is way overblown. Despite the increasing competition, and other factors, Netflix will be just fine. A library, a digital video library. Thousands of movies and TV series available for instant streaming on a smart TV or on any other device with a connection. Then Netflix started producing fictions, some of great quality, and put them in its catalog, or sold them to television networks. Its volume of investments in original content, $ 5 billion, is higher than that of the BBC, ITV, HBO and Amazon combined. With the time, Netflix loyal their clients by giving them what they want to watch, a very good costumer service, the possibility to watch offline from the phone and tablet whatever the client want and whenever they want. Those faithful clients are the reason why Netflix will be fine. Faithful and satisfied clients will not change provider because of the original contents that Netflix offer and the absence of advertisments. First of all, Netflix started producing their own movies, shows, and web series that people love to watch called Originals. Those Originals won many Emmys, Grammys, and other prestigious prizes that increased the value of the work. Netflix started investing more and more in their Originals, and clients are always waiting for the new one to come out. They are high quality, entertaining, and enjoyable. Secondly, every big company in case of crisis fall into advertisement, but consumers know that Netflix won’t. They won’t not because they don’t have the money to do it (because trust me, they do), but because being ad-free is part of the branding of Netflix (Todd). It’s so annoying that in the middle of the movie it stops to show you a 10 seconds ad like Hulu does with some plans,

isn’t it? Few days ago I was watching a new series on Hulu from my roommate’s account (first time ever I was watching something on that platform), and I couldn’t help but thinking that the !

quality was so bad compared to Netflix. Let’s leave aside the story, which was based on a novel, but the quality of the picture, the actors, the continuity were mediocre. Even though it is way cheaper than Netflix, I would never quit Netflix for that. Having no ads that can distract or annoying the audience from watching a movie is a big reason why people still subscribe to Netflix. In conclusion, Netflix offers high quality programs that engage the audience and that make them loyal to the platform. Netflix is still growing nonetheless there are other companies who offer the same services for cheaper. These are the reason why Netflix will never die.
