In the age of technology, do paper and pencil tests still have a place and a purpose?

Measuring learning is an important part of a teachers work. Teachers use quizzes and tests to get an idea of what a child understood and learned. Today everything is done through technology. In the age of technology, I believe that traditional paper and pencil tests still have a place and a purpose. They do the same thing that you can do through technology. You can achieve the same results on a paper and pencil test as you do on an online test. For example, you can ask multiple choice questions, true or false questions, and open-ended questions on both the methods of testing. Personally, I like taking paper and pencil tests. Even when I am taking a test remotely, I have a pencil near me to make notes to work refresh my memory of the topics I studied and think more critically. I sometimes skip a question and circle it and then go back to it or sometimes I cross out some options that I know that definitely is not the right answer. However, I can’t do this on all online tests. I also don’t like sitting in front of a screen and taking a test. The other thing is that I believe paper and pencil tests are more helpful to teachers. With paper and pencil tests teachers have to go through each question and correct the test themselves instead of it being corrected by technology. This can help a teacher because then the teacher will not only see the overall score of the tests. Teachers will be able to see what questions people had the most trouble with and can use this information to help them know what they need to go over....
