The topic of school segregation in Boston surprised me the most. It is hard to believe this took place in 1970's when segregation should have been over long ago. I was surprised how much the parent's protested the bussing of children to other schools., and the length of time they lasted. The fact that they resorted to violence and the National Guard had to be called in to escort the children too school ....
