Module 7 Short Responses – Question 3 Name three historical lenses that you could use to look at the events described in the video you just saw.

1. The economic lens can be looked at to look at the barter/trade relationship between the Pilgrim's and Native Americans. The Pilgrims learned how to grow crops , hunt and fish from the Natives. How often did they trade with one another for goods that they needed? Both sides are different items to trade. 2. A social lens show the relationship between the Natives and the settlers. The Natives were internally viewed as savages who only wanted to harm the settlers. The Natives began to teach the natives how to grow crops , hunt as fish . The relationship grew between the two groups and they would celebrated the bounty know as the Harvest. President Lincoln tuned the harvest into a holiday , now known as Thanksgiving to unify the North during the Civil War. 3. This can also be viewed through a military lens. The Wampanoag was neutral in the Pequot war , but when Massasoit died his son Metacomet became the new leader. The new king led the Philip's war again the English . There was war between the natives and settlers which contained a great deal of violence and death....
