MORALITY PLAYS Hanno radici nel teatro legato ai rituali cristiani, MIRACLe( vecchio testamento) O MISTERY(nuovo testamento e vite dei santi) plays. Basati su materiali biblici e legati alle festività pasqua o natale. All’inizio si rappresentavano nelle chiese poi all’esterno. I morality plays invece non si basavano su materiali bibici ma cercavano di dare una lezioni moral, sulle buone azioni. Erano quindi + laici e meno didascalici. Dal 14 sec, legati alla festa del corpus domini. Le GUILDS corporazioni finanziavano e controllavano le rappresentazioni, ogni corporazione una parte in base al loro settore. Each corporation was responsible for a single scene but anyway each scene was part of the collective work. Morality plays are allegory in which the protagonist is met by personifications of various moral attributes who try to prompt them to choose a good life characteristic of the morality plays are allegorical characters or personifications.
