Factor influence buying behaviour

In this movie, there are factors that trigger Rebecca Bloomwood to exhibit compulsive behaviour which are internal and external factors, and the characteristics categorizing her as having this particular as shown in Confession of a Shopaholic movie. Consumers display different purchasing habits because of their different preferences collections of needs, wishes and wants. Then buying patterns are established of the combinations of their social, cultural, psychological and environmental factors. Whenever someone goes shopping, be it specifically or indirectly, she or he has to go from the internet shopping and malls by making decisions with a view to making a purchase. The main two key decisions are influenced by internal decisions (Low selfesteem, fear, Motivation, materialism, fantasy and external factors (family, TV, commercial, fashion, and credit cards). At the same time, as internal factor, the film shows that Rebecca Bloomwood has a sense of low self-esteem. Poor confidence also has to do with compulsive behaviour. Those who buy branded and expensive goods do not necessarily relate to signal status, prestige, etc., but rather with a compensatory gesture to provide a psychological relief to a distressed ego. When individuals have poor self-esteem, they always believe they 're not good enough, thus they need something to think they 're perfect. Rebecca Bloomwood is described as a grown-up shopaholic in a poor environment with a lot of financial problems. This prompts her to become an individual with no self-esteem. By buying expensive things, Rebecca gain more confidence. She increases her self-esteem from the items she purchases and most of the things she purchases are very pricey. Here is one of the scenarios where Rebecca presents compulsive shopping behaviour. At first, she only plans to go sightseeing during her spare time in some shops, so what happens at the end is her decision to buy stuff. On the movie, at (00:02:08) she said “Because you know that thing, when you see someone cute and be smiles, and your heart kind goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast? Well, that’s what it’s like when I see a store. Only it is better.”

Rebecca explains the store excessively. She's compares someone in a store. "Only it's better" she said, which means that store is better than a guy or someone else. She says the store is great than a human, because she gets what she desires from it. She thinks the store's always the perfect place to visit. On a part of the movie, she says “You see, a man will never love you or treat you as well as a store. If man does not fit, you can exchange him seven days later for a gorgeous cashmere sweater. And a store always smells good. A store can awaken a lust for things you never even knew you needed and when your fingers grasp those shiny, new bags… Oh, yes! Oh yes!” (00:02:43). Meanwhile, family is external factor that show have been shown in this movie. Rebecca is rising in a bad financial climate. She's been hanging since she had difficult time earning money when she was a little. Rebecca 's mum isn't a shopaholic or a woman addicted to luxury items such as Rebecca, while her father is a kind of father who always gives Rebecca advice spending money wisely. Her parents are both decent parents and simple people. That's what caused her to grow up like a girl who's ended up getting a habit to visit stores. She saw all the other girls squeal with the joy of life. She describes that beauty comes from luxury and branded items. Her sense of fantasizing a thing has been born since that time. Therefore, her mother has a major contribution to Rebecca 's process. Becoming a shopaholic or a compulsive shopping behaviour. As a child, Rebecca was forced to rely on her imagination to build her own beautiful world. She creates a world which is not supported by her family’s situation at that time. Her family was living in poverty, and that's what made she wants to make her dream come true. Only by doing so will she be able to live in the universe she makes herself.
