Description

MR. BEAN IN TOWN – ROWAN ATKINSON The book is composed by two shorts, but very funny stories about Mr. Bean’s adventures. Steak Tartare In the first story, Mr. Bean goes to a restaurant for his birthday dinner. Once he is there, he realizes that he doesn’t understand everything on the menu, so he puts his finger casually on the menu and he points the tartare. But, when the order is ready, Mr. Bean realizes that he doesn’t like the raw meat! To avoid embarrassing situations, he tries to hide his food in the strangest places like a vase of flowers or a woman’s bag. (I think this is the funniest part of the story) But, when he does this, he accidentally hit the waiter and the waiter falls down on the floor with all the plates. At this point, Mr. Bean has an idea and puts his tartare with the other food, and he pretends to be angry. So, he doesn’t take the blame for that. In the end of the story, Mr. Bean, because of the accident, is moved by the waiter to another clean table of the restaurant and he’s very happy, but the waiter serves him another tartare, so Mr. Bean is not very happy anymore! The launderette In the second story, Mr. Bean goes to the launderette for washing his dirty clothes. Once he is there, he accidentally swaps his trousers with a young woman’s skirt. So, while he’s looking for his trousers, he has to wear the woman’s skirt. This is a very embarrassing situation for Mr. Bean: in fact, next to Mr. Bean, there is a young and strong man that looks up at Mr. Bean and starts to laughing. In the end Mr. Bean doesn’t find his trousers again because, while he’s looking for them, he puts himself into the dryer machine, but the young woman puts her clothes into the dryer machine too. At this point, Mr. Bean is very scared about the situation. In the end, the dryer machine starts and Mr. Bean is in there, so he starts to go round round round. (I think that the end of the story is also the funniest part of the story.)...
