MY MAPS: SPANISH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES You are going to create your own map of the Spanish-speaking world using Google My Maps in your Google Drive. Follow these instructions to label the dierent pieces of information on the map. Instructions: 1. Go to your Google Drive account and click New. 2. Select Google My Maps. This may be under the “More” drop down category. 3. In your map, change the name to “Last Name, First Name - Spanish-Speaking Countries”. 4. Change “Untitled layer” to “Los Países - Countries” 5. Add a second layer and rename it “Las Capitales - Capitals” 6. Highlight the Los Países layer. Find and label all of the Spanish-Speaking Countries; be sure to use their Spanish name (ex: República Dominicana, not Dominican Republic) Use the “Add Marker” tool on the map to mark where they are located. Make sure you change the title of the point to the name of the country! You can change the marker to whatever shape and/or color you would like, however, all of your country markers must look the same. Countries to Label Argentina

7. Highlight the Las Capitales layer. Find and label each of the capitals in those countries. Use the “Add Marker” tool on the map to mark where they are located. Make sure youchangethetitle of the point to the name of the capital - in Spanish! You can use whichever marker you would like, however, all of your capital markers must look the same, and theyshouldbedierent from your country markers. 8. Once all countries and capitals are labeled; double-check that they are on the correct layer (you can click and drag) and that the icons match the layer. 9. Click “Preview” to see how your map looks. Check for 21 Spanish-speaking countries and 22 capitals. 10. In “edit” mode (not preview mode), click “Share”, change the settings so I will be able to view it, then copy the link and submit your completed map to Canvas. Incomplete Example:
