MYRA ANN S. PANIZA BSED 3-MATH ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION NARRATIVE REPORT The Earth does not belong to us: we belong to the Earth - Marlee Matlin If we're destroying our trees and destroying our environment and hurting animals and hurting one another and all that stuff, there's got to be a very powerful energy to fight that. I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that. - Ellen DeGeneres Mr. Calil A. Bantuas our speaker on the Seminar in Environmental Education, present and discussed to us the Issues Concerning the Environment and some of the Republic Acts and Presidential Decrees related on the environment. These are the Republic Act 8749 also known as the Philippine Clean Air Act; Presidential Decree 1181 known as the Supplements the Provision of Presidential Decree 984; Republic Act 6969 known as the Control of Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Waste; Philippine Clean Water Act also known as R.A 9275; Climate change act of 2009 also known as R.A. 9729; Food Security Act of 1985; Solid Waste management Act (R.A 9003) and he also discussed My Role, Your Role and Our Role. The Philippines also suffers major human-caused environmental degradation aggravated by a high annual population growth rate, including loss of agricultural lands, deforestation, soil erosion, air and water pollution, improper disposal of solid and toxic wastes, loss of coral reefs, mismanagement and abuse of coastal resources, and overfishing. We should take good care of our Mother Earth, because all of this is made by our Almighty Father and we are living there. We should think of the ways to prevent this problem, we must know the proper solid waste management; avoid throwing of trashes/garbage on the river/lakes/canals. We should avoid cutting trees on the forest, but rather we should plant trees to avoid floods and landslides. Our government must work on this problem with the cooperation of the people. We must follow those Republic Acts and Presidential Decrees that were implemented to lessen the problems in our environment and all of us must follow those with no exception....
