Description

Motifs are single body movement or short phrase of movement which includes the style and intension of a dance. The history of the these motifs movements are visible from the old time in shape of painting or statues for example a status of veiled dancer in accient Greek 150-100 B.C. The motifs style or movements are the choreographic devices which includes the gestures , movements etc. these movements are the

main parts or building block for the whole

choreography. In past era or old times the folk motif movements were simple with less instrumental influence where as the time is passing the evolution of different motif style or movements are manipulated with the help of new instruments to give color to the performance. Different types of movements were introduced with flow of time. In the lindy hop dance, in old era this dance include few motif movements. It is a partner dance form in which included 8 to 9 count step mostly it foot work. in past the dance was first introduced in africa as Zulu dancing which is their traditional dancing. In zulu dancing the movements are with the music which are drum music and the motifs include far ward back ward movements , This dance is a very important dance to the Zulu people and is usually performed at a traditional Zulu ceremony and is accompanied by singers and drums It is a ritual that unmarried and young men must dance, it is only occasionally that married women and men join in. as the music increase the movements in zulu dance become fast so that as compare to that in lindy hop it is the same case as the music increase the movements become more fast

If we compare this zulu dancing to the new era dancing lindyhop, the movements are the same moving forward and back word as well as side to side. The evolution in lindy hop is having two partners....
