MODULE ONE Learning Activity 1.1 Answer one of the following questions (15-20 lines) and submit your answer to your course facilitator.

1. What are the new things that you learned about the nature of mathematics?  Critical thinking, problem solving, analytical skills, quantitative skills, the ability to control precise and elaborate ideas, create logical arguments and expose illogical arguments, communication, and management skills are just a few of the things I need to learn about the nature of mathematics, in my own words. Mathematics reveals hidden patterns that aid us in comprehending our surroundings. As a study of abstract objects, mathematics relies on logic rather than observation for its standard of truth, yet it does it primarily by observation, computation, and even experimentation. Mathematics is a tool for modeling and understanding the world. Mathematics is essential to scientific and business endeavors, as well as daily life. Patterns and proofs, as well as issue structure and solution seeking, are all part of mathematics. Mathematics reveals underlying patterns that assist us in comprehending our surroundings. Mathematics, as a discipline of abstract objects, uses logic rather than observation as its standard of truth, but it also uses observation, simulation, and even experimentation to discover truth. Mathematics can be found in nature, even in places where we wouldn't anticipate it. It can explain how galaxies spiral, how a seashell curves, how patterns repeat, and how rivers bend. Even subjective feelings, such as what we deem lovely, may be explained mathematically. In whatever you subject you are at now, there is Mathematics. 2. What aspect of the lesson significant changed your view about mathematics?

 Mathematics has always been a topic that I have enjoyed since I was a student. However, as I grew older, people younger than me began to question why they needed to learn the topic. That is why I kept thinking about what to say to them and how they would use it in their daily lives. What is it about math that has impacted your perspective on it in real life? What role will math play in our world's future? Is mathematics education's future still important in light of shifting curricula? These inquiries may stay in your mind. But I believe that what math truly gives to people who understand and apply it well is the ability to solve issues, sometimes utilizing patterns and other times by trial

and error. Mathematics skills are transferable to real-life circumstances, particularly in various domains of employment. This is mostly due to the improvements and developments in mathematics in the twenty-first century, which strive to improve students' abilities. It is gradually shifting its attention away from computations and toward difficulties requiring critical thinking, logic, reasoning, and perseverance. With this in mind, it is hoped that pupils' previously traumatic thoughts will be replaced with positive ones. And as more math instructors are trained, may they be good vessels of learning, full of joy and patience, so that students would enjoy math even at an early age. Yes, mathematics will continue to be difficult, but considering its long-term benefits will substantially reduce the strain on those who study and teach it. 3. What is the most important contribution of mathematics in humankind?

 Mathematics is beneficial to humanity in terms of logical and mental development in order to bring more harmony to our life. Imagine how we would manage our time every day if we didn't have mathematics? Without realizing it, life is a shambles. As a result, mathematics teaches us to balance our lives through mental development and critical thinking. It assists us in making our lives easier and more advanced, for example, by counting money or constructing houses and other infrastructure. It serves many purposes; in short, mathematics is an integral part of our daily lives in our planet. Mathematics is crucial to humanity, in my opinion, because it is employed in our daily lives. It is one of the reasons why individuals have been able to prove truths or theories. Our thoughts become more rational as a result of mathematics. It makes life easier for people and plays a significant role in their lives. Mathematicals may help us improve and broaden our knowledge, and the ability to apply them is the most essential way of solving measurable issues by analyzing them. They also help us avoid being uninformed and illiterate. We may link mathematics to our life by understanding that there is a solution to every difficulty, but it is not instantaneous; we must go through a process and step by step. Because most things we value are abstractions, mathematics as an axiomatic proof method to obtain knowledge (true assertions) about abstract ideas is the most powerful. Numbers are the most commonly utilized abstractions. They specify how amounts are related to one another. It refers to the quantification of measures and the divisibility connections between them. You can study numbers in space, or tuples of numbers (coordinate systems, higher dimensions) that represent the geometry of static objects, as a step up from numbers. Geometry is one of the most ancient applications of mathematics. Page 2 of 4...
