Introduction Into today’s Somaliland, the youth teenagers are using digital technology grows so rapidly and integrates into our society at such an accelerated rate, it’s hard to keep with it, let alone reflect on the effects it has on our lives. Although facebook YouTube and twitter did not exist a mere decade ago they are now ubiquitous forms of media and communication in our culture. Today’s generation of teenagers of Somaliland, born in the 1995s, aptly labeled the, are the most connected generation ever. These youth generation teens are digital natives growing up in an era of a massive influx of technology. They do not know of a world that does not include the Internet and easy access to technology. Parents of youth teenagers, however, are addicted social media. Social media addiction problem has been treated important, health business culture and education and others but it effects especially in the education field of secondary schools, because adolescent is more vulnerable to the addiction. Social media addiction was an important issue a few years ago. However, smart phone addiction has become a more serious problem recently in our country. Smartphone’s can be customized with new software, and the variety of these programs is increasing. The social communication platforms (like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsupp, etc.), GPS functions and games are especially popular. Smartphone abuse to addiction is becoming more problematic nowadays in youth of Somaliland because most students whether higher learning students or low level students are more addicted to applications found on Smartphone’s so that they download and run numerous applications with Smartphone’s with Internet connection. It causes unhealthy, time wasting, degrading, (or becoming poor) and others. So the nature of this assignment is exploratory one because it tries to explore the reasons behind poor education of our youth students and we found that Facebook users had lower Grade Point Averages and they were online most of the time and utilized very less time for their studies.

social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter; gaming sites such as Club Penguin, Second Life and the Sims; and video sites such as YouTube and blogs (O’Keeffe et al., 2011). As O’Keeffe etal, the social media is site or website that allows you easy to share your information another person using your smart phones through internet so we can say social media become part of the society in particular for the young people, and most of them lost their time like Facebook, snap chat, imo, and Whatsupp etc. Social media acts as a communication tool that allows youth to join online conversation and It also allows youth to access different kinds of videos on web and play online game (Osterrieder, 2013). Another definition social media is the tools, services and communication facilitating connection between peers with common interests Chris Garret - Chrisg.com. According to Laird (2012), youth spent at least 10.6 billion minutes each day surfing the sites which do not include mobile usage. Another hand Smartphone’s is a cell phone that allows you to do more than just make phone calls and send text messages. Smartphone’s can browse the internet and run basic software programs like a computer. Smartphone’s use a touch screen to allow users to interact with them a Smartphone is a mobile phone with highly advanced features. A typical Smartphone has a high-resolution touch screen display, Wi-Fi connectivity, Web browsing capabilities, and the ability to accept sophisticated applications. So Smartphone abuse to addiction is becoming more problematic nowadays in Somaliland because most students whether higher learning students or low level students are more addicted to applications found on smart phones such as whatsapp, twitter facebook E.T.C. and also changing the culture step by step The aim of this article was to find out the impact of cultural social media and Smartphone’s and the social media has both advantage and disadvantage In this article we are focusing only the drawbacks of social media; it can be categorized into few major points: Health effect, Business effect, Cultural and Society effect, finally This paper will stress more on the study of negative impacts of youth in term of academic performance, social interaction, health, behavior standards, security, privacy, and case sextant. One of the most obvious negative aspects of social networking is losing face-to-face contact with other people. Group Six

Teens are sitting around with their gadgets in their hands all day long, tapping messages onto screens instead of communicating with real people. Many teenagers feel more comfortable with virtual friends than with real ones. Health impact Using smart phones on social media and becoming addicted has a big problem on health impact so it causes many dangers diseases while some times smart phones becoming hot and causes explosion. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube nor other social media websites who has not heard of these social media websites? Everywhere you turn today, emphasis is being placed on social networking and connecting online. These popular websites have millions of users spending 22% of their time online, according to the (Nielsen Company). People of all ages are now tuning to this form of interactive dialogue as a means of communicating with others. But does this form of communication and socialization come with a price. Health impact of social media causes;Depression and stress When face-to-face communication has been removed, it becomes easy for some individuals to use a type of alter ego to exaggerate who they really are. Many social media users practice boosting the reality of their lives by posting things that make them appear more desirable to be with. People just want to measure up Those with less social confidence can easily see themselves as having less worth than others.

Being constantly reminded that your life may not measure up to so many others can further lower a person’s self-confidence. In addition, social media is rampant with overly critical and often hurtful interaction. These unfriendly exchanges can take place so much more easily when the human element of face-toface communication has been removed. Such cruelty can be devastating to an already troubled individual. The feelings of inadequacy that are caused can sometimes lead to depression. having Smartphone means we’re always ‘available’-to take calls , text messages, instant messages, social media notifications and emails. The work day no longer finishes at 6pm as emails continue to push through late into the night. Cultural and society impact Culture is an active and vibrant constituent of a society. It is healthy for the society when it evolves with sustaining values, when it nurtures a lifestyle, attitude and consciousness aimed at betterment of society in the long run. Culture can be defined as a way of life which includes beliefs, aesthetics and institutions of a civilization. Considering today’s way of life, media is certainly an influential entity in our culture. The influence of the Internet has been most significant in the way it has transformed the lives of young people. Friendship interaction and peer-toper relations are increasingly conducted online or through text messaging. Such interactions have had major cultural consequences. Texting and online communications have influenced the evolution of language they have thrown up new rituals and symbols and have had an important impact on people’s Somaliland, the young in particular. Consequently what happens to people through their online interactions really matters to the way that youth change their culture? This leads to a loss of our own cultures and traditions. With the sudden increase in usage of social media, the views and cultures of the west are even more widespread especially among the youth. Being the youth, they tend to be extremely impressionable and they make changes in their lives based on what they see shared on facebook Group Six

This loss in culture is evident in the way we speak, the way we dress, the values we adopt, our responses to situations, the choices we make, our hobbies & interests, the movies we watch, and the music we listen to all of them change our culture. Every nation in the world has a culture of diversity that differs from the rest of the world and a life-sustaining culture that protects and boasts. Our tradition is a long-awaited generation of generations. It is as if the generations of generations have come to us in this generation. Since we are now responsible for what we are, we must protect our culture as well as our good faith, our spoken language, and our unhealthy dresses and other cultural practices. it seems to be getting weaker, which is why we have not given much importance to its protection and security. When it comes to Somali, it is a culture of socialization that easily emanates from other countries. This is good for us and does not understand what it is culture and that it is different from other peoples and must be proud of. Also, there are foreign cultures that have affected our good culture and caused more of the community let's leave our culture to understand that their culture is ancient. In recent years, it has emerged in many ways that our culture has a negative impact on social media, especially in the face book, snap chat, imo, whatsupp etc. which have a major impact on our culture and society. Everything has advantages and disadvantages. Social media has a lot of advantages but never can be forgotten and inefficient. So we will tell social media about the negative effects of our culture. Our culture has had a major impact on social media. What we say is that it has changed our many things in our culture. When using social media in particular, face book, snap chat, imo, and whatsupp etc, he sees many things including other people's culture. If they are how they dress and how they act. It is beautiful to him. This led to the person doing what he saw. He also dresses for the dress of other nations. He did not act only in the same way and he would move to the rest of the community. The act he does is damaging our culture. And this action also affects our good faith. The person is also treating bad things like films. Then the person who is going through a few simple steps will see what he sees and have a negative effect on him. The negative psychological effects of media are seen in terms of media changing the people’s outlook on life. Media have changed the cultural and moral values of society. A majority of the audiences believe in what is depicted by the media. Youngsters and children often tend to mix the reel and the real world under the influence of the mass media. . What it may result in can be termed a ‘cultural lethargy of sorts’.. Lately, media theories that regard the audience as a passive entity have been discarded, and advanced media theories take into account the audience response. However, despite cognitive abilities of the audience, the media has been successfully ingraining several values and elements into a large section of our society. Although the programmers in the media reflect, the society we live in, at times, they do much more than reflect the surroundings they exaggerate, sensationalize and even trivialize what is of utmost importance to make way for entertainment. The media creates celebrities; it creates idols. A certain type of music or movies is made popular by the media. The popularity of violent and abusive rap songs amongst teenagers can be traced to media hype. The exposure to violence, drug abuse, sex and other unhealthy habits has a major role in the outburst of unfortunate incidents where children have got extremely violent and out of control. Be it the advertisements touting products that embody cultural, racial and communal prejudices or the television shows and films, which portray violence, sexually explicit content and abusive language , they have a large presence in our electronic media today, especially television. There are music videos and rock bands that give out the message that alcohol, drugs and sex are Group Six
