cloud computing...

Description

Cloud computing Cloud computing involves storing and accessing files and applications over the internet rather than the computer's hard drive (Griffith, 2020). One of the main benefits of cloud computing is that it allows a large load of work to be done online without any problem with the performance of the system/ computer. It also allows to run at a lower capital cost because the organization or the business only has to pay for the capacity that they actually use with accordance to the demands of the customers where any unwanted amounts are no need to be paid. Cloud computing allows the ease of installing and maintaining where the organization does not have to be worried about the hardware, it is just only the website, software or code they should be concerned about (CliftonLarsonAllen, 2017). Mobility is another benefit of cloud computing where they should just have access to an electronic device such as a laptops and mobile phones from any place in the world which could provide the employees with the flexibility to perform their work. For an instance, the employees of the firm could telework since it benefits in many ways (Robertson, 2019). Along with the advantages of using cloud computing there are also disadvantages. Organization often store the secretive or sensitive data in the cloud so that they could use or review whenever they want but cyber criminals could gain access where they have the ability to get the private data and do damages and cause losses to the business. Furthermore, these could be attacked by malware infections which paves the path for any intended attack where sensitive data could be used for various purposes. Due to data breaches it could diminish the trust that is gained by the organization from the customers over the years (Coles, 2019). For an example there has been an incident that happened in “Target” where millions were used by a stranger from both the credit and debit card number. When these cases occur, finally it affects the revenue that is gained by the business due to the lack of trust.

I use eBay to order some necessary items for myself as well as my family where it uses cloud computing. When I researched about cloud computing, eBay uses OpenStack based private cloud platform to do the business. They decided to this application because they knew it was much more complex and there was a possibility of avoiding problems which provides more security (Venkatraman, 2014). I personally use google drive and OneDrive to store my documents especially the assignments that I am done with. Not only assignments but also pictures that I take, it is actually much safer to store in a cloud storage since then we have access to them anytime. Lastly, to windup cloud computing keeps getting complex with the advancements in the technology where there are many advantages but with all the positives of it there are also risks and disadvantages of it especially with security. I too use the cloud storage facility in order to store photographs and documents which is indeed very helpful and gains access to it anytime unless it comes to the point of being hacked.
