Which streaming service is better and why MBA...

Description

With so many streaming services to choose from how do you pick one? All from Netflix, Hulu and Amazon fire TV the choice is yours. As of April 2018, Netflix has 125 million members worldwide, more than 56.71 million of which are in the US .While movies were once the main reason to watch Netflix, these days it's known for original programming that has inspired many a binge watch. It literally spends billions on original shows and movies. Griffith, E., E., & ZiffDavis. (2018, May 10)Hulu started as a similar beast, though centered more on network TV than movies. According to Hulu it has 54 million users for its service. (Smith, C. (2018, October 03) With these companies being both used widely used they are competitors. Each offers a wide variety of shows and content to watch. There are different packages available to subscribers depending on their needs. Hulu used to have a free tier with limited shows and advertising, but killed it in 2016. Now, the price is a flat $7.99 per month for its base content. The biggest problem with that base tier is it still shows commercials. If you're okay with that, then enjoy. But for an extra $4 per month, go commercial free Netflix pricing is a little more complicated. With Netflix, you pay to see it on one screen in standard definition (SD) for $7.99 per month, or two screens simultaneously in high definition (HD) for $10.99 a month—there was a $1 price increase in October 2017. That HD part is key—two screens are fine and all, but HD is a necessity on most TVs and computers. SD just doesn't cut it, quality-wise. You can go to four screens at a time for $13.99 a month (also increased in October, up from $11.99)—and with that Premium plan you also get support for Ultra HD. With the supply and demand each service provided different TV shows to choose one and whichever service can pick them us by popular demand. Doing research I found out that Netflix and Hulu make their own content and have a specific audience for these movies and shows. Netflix and Hulu make their money off merchandise and popular shows. They are competitive monopolies as described in Episode 29: Monopolistic Competition.( McGlasson, M. J., Dr. (2011, July 08) Each service is unique and having both services I can’t choose between one. I like some shows that Hulu offers me that Netflix doesn’t and vice versa. These are two cash cow industries that will stick around for a long time because they are replacing cable just as I did in my house hold.
