VERBAL / OUTLINE CITATIONS Verbal citations are an integral part of any oral presentation requiring research. Each citation should be succinct yet include the following information: author, title/publication, and what the author said in the article, journal, or book. Your citations must reflect legitimate academic research. NOTE: ALL CITATIONS MUST BE WRITTEN ON YOUR OUTLINE AS YOU WOULD SPEAK. NO PARENTHETICAL CITATIONS. VERBAL CITATIONS DURING THE DELIVERY OF THE SPEECH MUST ALSO BE STATED IN A CONVERSATIONAL STYLE AS WRITTEN ON THE OUTLINE. CITATION EXAMPLES Review the citation examples below to determine how to verbally cite your source from a book, article/journal, and or website.
