The opening to the book shows that she is around a bunch of others that are wearing the veil and explaining how she got to wear it.

The chapters in the book have a growing story from the beginning of when it starts on why the veil is happening and leads into bits and pieces of her life as she grows in all aspects in her life.

In ‘The Letter’ Mr.Starapi, says that no love affair can be possible because of social classes between the two.

Marjane falsely accuses a man for being an innocent bystander. Facial expressions had no indication of guilt in the book. (Feeling guilty for having the man locked up)

Kia in the book was a close childhood friend who served for the Iran army in the war and had both arms and legs in the war, and later when he returns he seems optimistic and jokes about his disabilities.

Movie -

The beginning shows that Marji is in the airport then proceeds to go to the bathroom and folds the veil on her head.

The movie shows that it’s not about her whole life and makes the book into a story of specific events of to create a story.

The man that is falsely accused in the beginning was caught staring at her butt. (Portrayed perverted)

Kia in the movie still shows the war and violence, it also shows the effects from this; Kia is also shown to still have the same personality, but the movie doesn’t make a big impact of the war as the book.

At the end of the movie it is shown in some color, which looks like it shows the audience that they’re in the present.

Characters that are not in the movie: Mehir, Mr.Satrapi’s maid, and Tan all of the scenes that they were in were cut from the movie

Last Name 2 -

Markus (Marji;s first love) his role was the introduction, and the scene where she catches him cheating on him. The cab driver was not in the book but what in the last scene of the movie.
