Introduction Goal for engineering education. My specific goal for engineering education is to graduate as a software engineering. Because this

major is really important in my country (Laos). I know this is a challenging major as I am experiencing myself and other people told me. However, I will try my best and putting more effort into it. I can't tell exactly when I will graduate, but as I estimate, I might graduate in 2024 or 2025 if everything goes well. Honestly, I think it is not only me that wants to graduate with a 3.75 GPA. I know it is crazy, but that is my goal. I would do whatever would improve myself and lead me to succeed. Actually, this semester I should be taking whether Math221 or Math 271, but since my math level is low, I have to take Math115 in order to be allowed to take Math221. Therefore, after I finish this semester, I plan to take Math221, ENGL191, CSCI200, and Math271 for this coming semester(spring). Moreover, since I fall behind on my plan, I will take about two or three courses this summer which are CSCI201, CSCI301, and SE221. Additionally, for next fall semester, I plan to take SE250, SE211, SE350, and Math312. 

How success in engineering will enhance the quality of life. I strongly believe that graduating from engineering would change my life. Honestly, I am from a low-

income family. Therefore, if thinking as normal as other people, this major would be a great answer because you could graduate, whether a four-year student degree or master degree. You will earn a good salary. The most important is that, in my country, we still lack people who graduate from engineering. To put it simply, people who graduate from computer science or anything related to developing or creating

new technology. Therefore, we don't have enough people who know how to use those technologies nowadays. Thus, taking this major or engineering not only enhances my life or makes my family's quality better but also in my society and country would be better because if we have people who know how to use those technologies, we can create new jobs for other people too. I don't know much about engineering, but I know that we are now using, whether the table we are sitting on or the computer we are using, is made by engineering. Everything in our daily life that makes us convenient is from the process of engineers creating and producing. That is why I choose this major. 

Salary, disciplines, jobs functions, and industry sectors. As we all have learned through our textbook, I feel more confident taking software engineering as my

major. Even though I still nothing about software engineering as much as I should, whether coding or Website-developing. Many people asked me that why I chose to study this major? Often time, I would respond with that I love playing games. I want to not only be the gamer forever. So, I would like to create my own game for the exact purpose of other people to play. However, that is not the only expectation that I have. I also want to know whether how to code or build software or programming. The most important of taking this major is the salary. There are a variety of jobs that give different salaries. But based on the website called indeed, the average base salary of software engineering is $81,393 - $102,393 per year. To further discuss the discipline of software engineering based on the textbook page 334, it is similar to computer science in terms of types of specializations, such as programming language development, systems software, software architecture, or application development. The main difference is the focus of each discipline. Software engineers are more concerned with the application of engineering processes using existing languages or tools in existence, while computer scientists may work in the creation of new languages or algorithms.

Managing aspect of personal life. Nowadays, studying has become a crucial thing in our life. Many students study so hard—the particular reason for the circumstance is to graduate from college, and hopefully, they will get a good job. However, only studying hard could lead to a negative impact on students. As Penn foster, a school in the United States outlined, Studying today is stressful than in the past decades. Students are not only engaging in the work from school, family, and friends. But also in social media, which has many comparisons and bullying taking place. Therefore, I think in order to reduce stress from studying and make our personal life more manageable, we should focus more on our schedule. Stay on top of everything, as John Hall pointed out in his article. Studying is essential, but the things that are not less important are family and friends. That is why I always do the work from school that I could do before the due date, so I have some time to spend with them. Moreover, I also have time to exercise, which is the best way to reduce stress and connect with new people. Additionally, I will have time for outside work when I have a well-organized schedule and follow it strictly.

Change attitude. A positive attitude is the most powerful in everybody's life. Everyone can succeed in whatever career depends on their attitude because it determines our success from the start. Whatever we do, if we strongly believe that we can do it, we can do it. On the other hand, we would never get close to our goal if, at the start, we already say to ourselves that "we can't do it; it is too challenging." Of course, in order to reach our goal, we would have to encounter many different difficulty levels. Therefore, whenever I face any complicated problem that I have no idea how to solve, I will never say that I am stupid. Instead, I will say to myself that I just don't know it yet. Moreover, I also found some excellent attitudes that are beneficial to change my

attitudes on Iowa State University. They stated that " See the good in people and focus on the positive aspects of relationships, Address differences with an open mind and strive for win-win solutions, Celebrate accomplishments and view failures as learning opportunities." Teaching and learning Styles. Different people would prefer different teaching and learning styles to improve their studying or their grade. Especially for me, I don't know which of those teaching and learning styles would work for other people. But, I choose to use the teaching and learning styles as active versus reflective to improve my grade. I found that the method I used in my learning style, which was reflective learning, didn't work quite well. I used to work alone, whether work from school or work in my house. Therefore, to improve my grade, I have to use another learning style, active learning. I want to change my thinking from thinking quietly to thinking aloud, trying things out, and working more with group people instead of alone....
