Pasqualin Reading Summary In short, I believe the summary of this short story is how someone became literate throughout his childhood and early adulthood. Throughout his life, Lucas Pasqualin read books. His favorites included but wasn’t limited to the Harry Potter series and his all time favorite, “A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.” Throughout his life he read during much of his free time, whether it was at school or at home. Even though the story specifically talks about his literacy in books, it also talks about what he learned through his job. He worked as a busboy and during this, he learned how to read people’s body language well and to satisfy their needs without bothering them. Another example he gave was how he learned how to communicate effectively in debate club. He learned the essentials of having a good, strong argument while communicating effectively which is essential. At the end of the story, he looks back at his experience and is proud of the person he’s become and wonders what he’d be without his experience. I believe this is yet another story that many of us can relate to. All of us have learned many things since childhood and without those literacies, we wouldn’t be who we are today. I believe many of us, especially being college students can heavily relate to this story as most if not all of us have had a job or have been in some form of an extracurricular activity that has improved our literacy. Without these things, we wouldn’t be who we are today as we likely developed many new skills that help us in our present and will help us in our future. We can all look back at our lives and wonder what we’d be without these experiences as well as how we are proud of the person we have become through these experiences....
