Soyeon Kang CTVA 481 PBS Mini Report Clifford the Big Red Dog 1. I watched a show called “Clifford the Big Red Dog” on Monday, April 9th at 21:30 on channel 58-2. 2. The show was funded partly by Ready to Learn Grant from the department of education from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and a contribution from PBS station from viewers. 3. The show was not underwritten. 4. The show is a children’s animated series and it is about a red big dog named Clifford and its owner Emily Elizabeth. This show was originally a children’s scholarly book and every episode delivers a moral value to viewers. In this specific episode “Clifford’s Cookie Craving” and “Jetta’s friend”, they portrayed patience and selflessness. 5. The show was branded by KLCS-2 and the logo of KLCS-2 appeared bottom right on the screen middle of the show. Also, beginning of the show there are a E/I logo on top right of the screen which means “educational and informational”. 6. There was a promotional separation at the end of the show form The Industry Foundation before the next show which was the Sesame Street. Also, there was another separation for Safecar.gov. 7. The show was both closed captioned and audio described. 8. I liked watching PBS show because it did not have any commercial breaks so that it was easier to engage throughout the show. Especially for the kids, it would be much better for them to not get distracted by the commercial breaks. I also noticed that PSB shows contains more valuable contents than any other shows and they were funded by governments. Most of the shows in PBS channels were closed captioned and audio described for the hearing and visually impaired. They emphasized that this show was educational and scholarly for the kids before, during and after the show. There was a little teaser after the show about the next show and two promotional separations, the nest show started....
