22/10/2019 PESTLE (Political & Legal Factors) -drivers of change Political -driven by government decisions National Local International Can impact many vital areas for business: -workforce -health of the nation -infrastructure: decisions of where to build roads etc Government decides where money is spent Taxation policy will affect disposable income which can influence consumer confidence Sport policy been used for: -health -diversion -inclusion- include people from different areas -prestige- e.g. invest a lot of money in Olympics -economy what influences sport policy: trends- getting less healthy as a nation shockwaves- e.g. people dying at FA cup semi-final changing rules of stadium from standing to seating ideologies planned interventions/lobbying Public and private sectors also impacted through: National politics and resulting legislation/regulation -future of NHS?
Local government politics/regulation -deregulation of planning laws
Decisions on taxation & public expenditure priorities -Olympics and major sporting events -education and health
