This is PHIL1402 UNIT 8 Discussion POST...
For the first part of this assignment, I think I will choose Paulo Freire because of his pedagogical approach. He grew up in a middle-class family but had contact with extreme poverty. He graduated in law, but after his marriage, he found an interest in education and studied philosophy. Education was received under the official method. Freire was convinced that learning should not be transferred but rather built. Therefore, in the educational process, the most important thing is student participation. In his view, the world did not need people to replicate ideas, but rather the creators of ideas, the most important thing in education is to foster creativity and collective freedom. Knowledge is not born in a vacuum, but in certain circumstances, which is why it is never neutral (wikiwand, n.d.). About the second part of this assignment, I remember something that emerged in a conversation which is that Western society established its philosophy under Greek influence and Egypt had an influence on Greek philosophers (Khanacademy, 2018). Finally, I would like to thank all of my peers and our distinguished instructor. I hope you all stay safe and wish you all the best on the final exams.
