Holly Marie Bernardino Artour Aslanian PLS 2010 Intro to American Government 27 February 2021 Class Reflection #1 1. What do you feel is going well with the class so far? I feel that the lectures are engaging and interesting and are supplementary to the book. I really liked how you gave a summarized version of the textbook chapter, but went into detail about the main points of the chapter. I also wanted to formally compliment your background music selection for the videos. As someone who loves video games, it makes me look forward to watching the lectures. Since video game soundtracks are designed to keep people focused, it establishes the same effect when trying to pay attention to the lectures. I enjoy seeing people’s responses on the discussion boards. 2. What do you feel could be improved? Something that could be improved is having or establishing a way to interact with the reading so that the material is better retained. I am not sure if this would be something that I would improve or something that the class itself could improve on. I understand that reading textbooks are an expectation for students, however, it feels draining at times even if someone were to take multiple breaks. I know that some students like to annotate and highlight while reading, writing summaries on the material that they have just read, or making flashcards or quizlets. In college as well, it is understood that not all professors will provide some sort of study guide that will look identical or similar to the exam. I felt that the exam notes that were provided before our first exam could have been more specific since they felt like open-ended questions

that could have been answered beyond what the textbook was asking for or what could have been on the exam....
