Happiness The documentary, Happy, refers to how others find their happiness. There were many people throughout the film that explained their happiness, and when they feel complete joy. Others go off of their past experiences that weren't so great and explained how they were able to overcome those difficult times to finally achieve that sense and feeling of happiness. The document begins with a quote by Benjamin Franklin stating, "The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself." This goes with the rest of the documentary because it was said more than once that you have to change to find happiness if you want to be happy. Personally, I have a hard time being happy, hence why I watched this documentary. After watching it, I now know some ways to overcome some of the things that have happened in my past that hasn’t been so good. There has been a lot of scientific research on happiness and how it is important in this generation and to people. The argument made in the document is that happiness is meant for everyone who wants to achieve it and become happier. There was bias in the documentary on happiness. Many people had their own thoughts about happiness and how to get the happiness that they feel. Many researchers have said that exercise if good to feel happiness, but that should depend on the person. Many researchers have also said that you could never measure happiness, but only depression. Some believe that happiness will help achieve goals, relationships, and getting jobs. Does it? A man defined his happiness as sitting in his boat after a long hard day, watching the sun fade away, watching the

birds fly by, and listening to the silence and suggested that the person doing the interview should try it. That probably could work for many people like him, but it doesn’t work for everyone. A cook at a restaurant stated that being in "the zone" helps people find happiness because when in that state, nothing else but what is being done matters. Another researcher said that when bad things happen to people, it is good for them in the end. Many of those used during this documentary had their own options about happiness within the film. The effectiveness over this film was that everyone can achieve happiness if they really wanted to. If you finally get that click that "yes, I want to be happy," then that person will make a change in their life to achieve that happiness. It all depends on the person and how hard they fight for that happiness. Those who are filled with happiness after experiences horrible things in their life are people I strive to be after all the fighting that I am still going through. Some people find their happiness faster than others. It takes time. Everyone finds happiness in their own way, and once it is finally found, everything is looked at differently. The film showed me in an effective way that there is always a way to be happy....
