PPA4311 – Semester 1 2021
WELCOME Rationale Welcome to the on-campus component of the PPA4311 unit. The key focus of this unit is on the preparation and planning for the Assistant Teacher Program in the Y68 Course. This is an integrated unit that prepares pre-service teachers for the Assistant Teacher Program (ATP) by developing professional knowledge, particularly of the planning and evaluation processes relevant to the ATP. The ATP in the Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is an extended professional experience in a secondary school lasting for approximately 8 weeks plus 5 planning days. The pre-service teacher assumes the role of an Assistant Teacher and has the opportunity to further acquire and refine teaching skills and to function as an autonomous teacher. In most instances, Assistant Teachers will teach in their major and minor teaching areas. The on-campus component of PPA4311 will equip Assistant Teachers with the knowledge and skills to prepare them for ATP. I look forward to working with you to help you prepare for your final professional experience and I wish you every success for the semester. Carli Sanbrook Unit Coordinator And the Y68 teaching team
