Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

What is OCD? OCD is defined as an extreme anxiety state that occur with different types of thoughts, images, sensations and compulsive behaviors(recurring).

OCD’s symptoms Someone that face OCD will face four different stages of the illness that is repeated over and over. First someone that have OCD will have anxiety that will occur compulsion behaviors. Compulsion behaviors will occur a certain form of relief for the individual. But after this Relief state the individual will face again the fear again of being in a certain state such as being sick, being fat… We call this stage the obsession stage that happen right after the relief of someone that present symptoms of OCD.

OCD example Anorexia: state of the body with lack of weight

Scared of being too fat, wants to be skinnier.

Health and mental problems due to the diet. Not enough nutriments. Cause depression and faintness.

Stigmas of OCD: People that are diagnosed with OCD faced many types of discriminations. Public stigmas of OCD people can be a problem in their social life for example. People would generally think that people with this mental hilliness will not be able to get any type of job or would consider theme instantaneity incompetent. It is an issue because it affects their professional life and social life which restrict their opportunities to find a job for examples or to make friends.

TREATMENS OPTIONS

There are two different types of treatments. First one is psychotherapy. It consists to consult a professional that will help you to face your symptoms. For this therapy the patient has to self-report his symptoms and problems. We call it the talk therapy. Then there is selfcare. Someone that suffers of OCD is able to consult a professional and will be diagnosed. Usually, doctors usually prescript anti-anxiety or anti depression medications. Surgery are advised for the “worst” cases

COMMUNITY RESSOURCES Nowadays OCD is a mental illness that is treated. Over the years studies showed that they were a significant increase of people who recovered partially and totally from OCD. It is important to recognize for someone that suffer of OCD to recognize the symptoms so he can talk about it with his family, friends and therapist and would be able to take medicine if needed. The most important part of the recovery process for a patient of OCD is to realize that he is hill and therefore the patient can work on it.
