Description

Planning is where the majority of my weaknesses stem from and once I can turn planning into more of a strength it will be easier to combat my other weaknesses. I should start with small achievable plans so I can gain experience in planning, such as writing down what needs to be achieved in a week and prioritising things that need it. I need to spend time working out what planning techniques work for me, for example, will writing a timetable motivate me more, or will marking off things on a to-do list? With poor planning comes poor time management. I need to be stricter with myself when it comes to getting things done, but whilst this is still a learning curve for me it is important that I am also realistic so that I don’t get burnt out- leading to procrastinating and wasting time. For this I can set myself time limits or deadlines for tasks to be completed. Trying new things is where I lack confidence the most because when you’re faced with something new that means there is a chance of failure. I need to come to accept that I’m not always going to get things right the first time but that doesn’t equal failure, more as a learning and growth opportunity. Rewarding myself when I’ve done something that I’ve pushed myself for will help motivate me to keep trying, and will give me more confidence when I achieve what I need to do....
