Rajan Hirani Professor Bobby English 2100 25 January 2018 The Human Phase of Life It is never easy to know about someone in your until your interests drags your attention for the person. When anything goes wrong in our world, the first thing comes to our short memory is our family. In a usual case, family is everything to us, but, unfortunately, not for everyone. There are people around the world who had a bad past, traumatic childhood at the age of growing up. Paul K Chappell graduated from West Point in 2002 and now currently is author for several books, which relate to world peace. He is the author of Road to peace, the comic Ocean, Will War ever end, and etc. Chappell has faced a lot trauma throughout his childhood and is this is what makes him a today a peace leader director. Over the life, Chappell lost his parents at his early age, was dominated by the majority, by the white people and the disrespected from the community of Korean and African. Paul learned a lot of a human’s interactions, their behavior, routine, cultures, and attitudes, which gave him a even more sense of how to live on this planet. The time he spent at West Point made him arrogance let the your character fall down. It becomes very difficult to listen to your inner voice and people around us come up with irrational decisions. In the reality, most of us don’t understand the fact of how trauma could be dangerous to our lives. The fact of having an early age and facing through trauma is even horrible. What impacts it makes on a child is worst than on any adult. Human beings survive on support and they do not like to spend all their

life alone with sorrow and helpless. At the time of being helpless and still young, it is too weak to resist the adult domination and criticize. It is an uncomfortable experience with a traumatic attack on a human brain. Such wounds caused will not heal easily. Chappell says, there are several effects of trauma on a human’s life. It affects his or her health, and most importantly the human loses his potential to trust someone. The world is good for nothing if there is no trust among educated people. Well, trauma changes the human and specially if you are young it affects very severe. The entire concept of the Chappell relates with his childhood when he had faced unnecessary violent from his father, violent dreams of his dad snatching him over the bed, hitting him hard and trying to kill himself with his own pistol. On the other hand, Chappell although faced the poor reality he is optimistic and seeks for peace. He says, the great world peace leaders like King Luther, Gandhi, and Buddha did not want any war. He demanded for freedom of his people without any violence. There was a time of Gandhi when he was taken to Jail but before that he had to show up at the court. The judge was before time and all other barristers were on time. Gandhi was presented late at the court and when he entered the court, the entire jury, judge, barristers and audience stood up for him since everyone knew although he is a criminal, but what he did was right with peace. The criminal got respect for being an excellent example of peace and diversity. Chappell left his house, he grew up somewhere he shouldn’t and he became terrible at school for his behavior. Although being a good student he failed to act normal and be in discipline in class because of trauma he went through. The factors Chappell talks about during his chapter regarding trauma are very realistic. All the factors affect the human being in a way, which is worst than anything else. Chappell dream’s

became were so terrible when he himself stabbing a knife on to his chest. Such nightmares are factors of trauma he had in his childhood. When Chappell talks about human being naturally violent, it relates us with animals. Animals are not naturally violent but they kill to eat and that’s how their habitat is been found. All over the chapter 1, trauma has been an evil enemy to Chappell and his family. Human’s change very quick with their interest and understanding for their survival. Peace is around us but only if we go out in the world and seek for it instead of being traumatized....
