ROLE OF SPORTS SINCE MY CHILDHOOD When people talk about the sport, they think generally in a ball and two teams playing. They always relate sport to soccer because it brings an entire country together. However, other sports are better than soccer. In my case, although I grew up in a country where soccer is inherent to the people, I felt in love with martial arts when I was younger. Besides, martial arts keep us fit, healthy and make us active. The secret to having a healthy and positive lifestyle is to have a positive mind and body. I have played sports since I was on school. I used to play soccer because it is the most practiced sport until I discovered martial arts. So before I practiced Muay Thai, I used to play soccer because I remember at that moment soccer was so popular and many boys want to be like Ronaldo, Zidane, etc. Actually, I am sure that anywhere you go, sports stars are national heroes like in Peru where there are famous and considered for many people as an inspiration like Paolo Guerrero who is a soccer player
or Valentina
Shevchenko who is a fighter in the UFC. I admired Anderson Silva, who was a UFC fighter. Fundamentally, he inspired me when I was younger to continue training. One day I was going back to my home and on that way, I saw a Dojo. Rarely did I enter to see what happen, but I did it and I saw people training. I ask the man in charge, and he told me that I could stay sit down watching the training. After the training finished, I was fascinated with a sport that never have I seen. I decided to practice Muay Thai, definitely. Since then, seldom do I practice another sport that there is no Muay Thai. Even though many people consider sport like an entertainment, I think sports helped me to be healthy and give me discipline. This sport is controversial because some people infer that Muay Thai promote violent, but I disagree with them. Although Muay Thai has a contact factor, it helps you to keep calm and peace. In conclusion, I think sports help young people to build their mental health parallel their physical health. In sport, it always has to need discipline, responsibility, and humility. Sports is also one of those activities, which helps us maintain a proper body and a positive mentality. Unless you don’t practice constantly, you will not win anything in this way of life....
