Therapeutic Uses: increases tissue sensitivity to insulin. This peroxisome proliferator activated receptor agonist regulates the transcription of insulin responsive genes found in key target tissues, such as adipose tissue, deliver, and skeletal muscle. Enhanced tissue sensitivity to insulin lowers the blood glucose level. Adverse Effects: fatigue, headache, congestive heart failure, edema, hypertension, myocardial ischemia or in fortune, blurred vision, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, diarrhea, hepatotoxicity, anemia, back pain, bone fracture Contraindication/Precaution: hypersensitivity to rosiglitazone or its components, New york Heart Association class three or four heart failure

Education: . Advised patient to notify prescriber immediately if she has fluid retention, shortness of breath, or sudden weight gain, because drug may need to be discontinued.
