Simulation Centre Orientation environment, all rooms are to be left tidy and ready to be used by the next group of learners. Sask Polytech Policy #1211 covers expected conduct of students including their behavior and attitude during simulations. Please review it by following this link: http://saskpolytech.ca/about/about-us/documents/policies/studentconduct1211.pdf

Likewise, the Harassment Policy #601 can be found at this link: https://saskpolytech.ca/about/about-us/documents/policies/harassment601.pdf

Students should read and be familiar with these policies and the respectful behavior expectations within the Simulation Centre. Requirements and guidelines are available for viewing upon request at the Administrative Assistant’s desk. The SC team asks students and program faculty to make themselves aware of the SC requirements and guidelines within this orientation document.

Simulation Laboratory Equipment Equipment may be signed out from the lab for independent practice (must be related to clinical practice: presentations, assessment) and community clinical. Equipment that leaves the lab must be signed-out with SC staff and returned by the required due date. Students are allowed access to the hospital unit for independent skill review. If you feel you need additional practice of a skill, discuss this with your instructor. If they support your request you can contact the Lab Coordinator, Theresa Cameron, to inquire about booking time in the lab to practice. Requests are reviewed and will be granted if lab time and supplies are available. You will be required to provide your name, student ID number, course number and name of instructor at the time of booking. Manual blood pressure cuffs can be signed out of the main campus library.
