This short video tour will review some basic information about how this course is organized and help you successfully navigate the learning environment. When you open the course, you will be automatically directed to the Announcements page. On the Announcements page, you'll find important updates and communications from your instructor. Be sure to monitor these announcements often, as they'll include valuable information about the assignments you're working on from week to week. [00:00:37.71] To navigate to other parts of the course, you will use the Learning Modules page located in the Course Menu dropdown menu. Or scroll to the bottom of the page to access learning modules directly. If accessing the Learning Modules page from the Course Menu, you'll see a link for the Start Here page in the left menu along with direct access to all of the learning modules. On the Start Here page, you can find many helpful resources, including the syllabus, student handbook, assignment guidelines and rubrics, learning resource information with FAQs and instructions, the online accessibility center, and links to tutoring and writing services. [00:01:22.26] Let's take a quick look at your course syllabus. Every course you take here at SNHU will contain a syllabus similar to this one. In your syllabus, you will see a description of the course and any required or recommended materials you will need, grade distribution for the course, and the university grading scale, the weekly assignment schedule, and other important university policies, such as the attendance and late assignment policies. You will review many of these policies this week as you review the syllabus and the student handbook more in depth. [00:01:59.42] One important use of your syllabus in every course is the course schedule. This lists the week or module and the required readings and graded assignments for the week. In this course, we have provided you with task lists in each week. But not all courses will have this feature. To help you with your weekly planning, you can use this course schedule as a checklist to help you meet all course requirements and due dates. Consider printing out just this page and keeping it handy for quick reference from week to week. [00:02:33.96] While your Announcements page is the default opening page in the course, you will navigate to the main content of the course through the Table of Contents. Here, you will find activities divided into week-by-week sections called learning modules. In each module, there will be a list of activities for that week. You can also find the task list for that module to assist you in planning your week. [00:03:00.91] Within each module, you will find the activities divided into learning blocks. The learning blocks are numbered according to module and the optimum order in which they should be completed that week. Open up each learning block to access the materials you will need in order to successfully complete the learning block. As mentioned previously, you can access learning blocks directly in the learning module home page. This will allow you to stop and start your weekly work to better accommodate your schedule. Note the estimated time for each learning block. This will also help you to plan your week and complete all assignments on time.
