Description

PART 1 Reading involves more than a basic understanding of word meanings. You can use the SQ5R study strategy to actively study textbooks and readings. This strategy can assist you in actively processing knowledge, resulting in improved memory and mastery of the content. It's a great way to make information more accessible and intelligible to people who read it.

The SQ4R reading system is intended to assist you in studying your textbook and putting your reading and note-taking skills into practice. SQ4R stands for survey, question, read, reflect, recite, and review, and the letters stand for these five steps. These techniques will help you get more out of your reading and prepare you for quizzes and exams. Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Record, React, Review made up the modified version of the SQ4R. The SQ5R study reading approach is a tool for not just learning knowledge before, during, and after reading, but also for reinforcing understanding and memory retention. SQ5R can help me with my studies as the course that I am taking up is Accountancy, I would need more than reading comprehension to help me understand the theories in the subject and course, and to also understand what to do with the numbers that I should balance before finishing my statements.

To begin discussing what SQ5R is made up of, Survey is to read the introduction and summary before beginning the actual chapter (if given). Look for topic headings, bold-faced text, illustrations, charts, and graphs as you read through the chapter. Before you start reading, these can give you an idea of the basic structure and substance. To “Question” is to develop questions about the subject to give your reading a purpose. Create questions to be answered using the topic and header information you gathered in the survey process. Begin by asking yourself questions such as who, what, where, when, why, and how. Questions that are broad in scope and include key subjects and points are the most useful. The last 5 techniques and strategies are the final Rs. The first one is to “Read”. It means to divide the information into pieces that will take you roughly 20 minutes to read. Section by section, read the information. Answers to your inquiries, significant concepts, and supporting details should all be found. Charts, graphs, tables, and illustrations should all be studied. These can be used to introduce new material as well as to connect ideas from the reading. The next one is to respond, which means you need to consider the content you've just read and the questions you've posed after each section. Because most responses are automatic, this can be done at the same time as the reading stage. The goal of this phase is for you to think about the material and pay attention to what's significant. Next up is to record, which translates to taking notes of the essential topics and underline them. This can be done on a separate sheet of paper, note cards, the margins of a textbook, or any other method that works for you. The last two Rs are self-explanatory, which is to Review and Recite. In order for the reader to further understand what he or she is reading, all of these techniques should be used and not even one technique should be disregarded.

Finally, the SQ5R review emphasizes the importance of scanning back over essential themes to ensure that the information you obtain is accurate to the content. I find the SQ5R very useful since it can help

me with my reading and comprehension. This technique can help me become a better reader, not just by reading words, but to also comprehend it in another level. PART 2 After I have read and comprehended the various forms of context clues, I came to a conclusion that Definition Clues or Explanation Clues further my understanding and knowledge. I learn well with this specific context clue since from when I was young, my mother made sure that I always understood her instructions by defining them to where I can understand her statements crystal clear. Having definitions can most definitely help me comprehend any statement....
