A Review of Restaurants (A task assigned by LUDIFU.com) -Abhinav Raj, New Delhi

The following document contains my review of the following restaurants in the Delhi-NCR region (as enlisted on Zomato):     

Varq, The Taj Mahal Hotel, Delhi Berco’s, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad Parikrama, The Revolving Restaurant, Connaught Place, New Delhi Ardor 2.1, Connaught Place, New Delhi Threesixty, The Oberoi, New Delhi

Reviews Name of the restaurant: Varq, The Taj Mahal Hotel, Delhi Restaurant link: https://www.zomato.com/ncr/varq-the-taj-mahal-hotel-mansingh-road-delhi A. Varq, The Taj Mahal Hotel, Delhi offers the best of classic North Indian cuisine with a hint of subtle yet palpable custom touch of the restaurant that enhance the overall taste of your favourite bits from the cuisine itself. The ambience, the setting and the quality of the space live up to the grandeur of the Taj group of hotels. The prices seemed heavy on pocket at first glance, but the restaurant staff judiciously treated us with complimentary items from the menu and in retrospect, the experience was worth every penny. Shahi Tukda is a must have from the sweet spectrum of the menu. The staff is efficient, humble, polite and will take pleasure in serving you; an overall delightful experience. Rating: 4.5/5 B. Varq, situated in The Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi is a 5-minute drive from India Gate offering a wonderful experience in fine dining if North Indian cuisine is what delights your taste buds. The atmosphere is pleasant attributing to the location of the fine-dining restaurant, the interiors lavishly adorned with Mughal paintings to compliment the theme, the staff diligent, always greeting guests with a smile and taking due care in what might seem like the most trivial of customer requests. Varqui Crab, Chicken Galawat and Dhungar Patthar Ke Kabab is a must have for non-vegetarian lovers. The restaurant also offers complimentary wi-fi. Rating: 4/5

Name of the restaurant: Berco’s, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad Restaurant link: https://www.zomato.com/ncr/bercos-indirapuram-ghaziabad A. If Thai and Chinese food is what your taste buds crave for the day, Berco’s is the place to be. The restaurant offers the best of mouth-watering Chinese and Thai delicacies (including exclusivities like the American Chop Suey), prompt, courteous and meticulous restaurant

services all in a single package without punching a hole in your wallet. The restaurant is mostly busy on weekend nights and might require you to wait for about 10-20 minutes but being located in the Indirapuram Habitat Centre helps as you get to look around with what the complex has to offer. Ambience is satisfactory, hinting a subtle Chinese theme. Rating: 4/5

B. Berco’s, situated in the Indirapuram Habitat Centre saves you the hassle of looking for a (good) Chinese cuisine restaurant if you’re in the Indirapuram-Vaishali vicinity. Booking in advance is recommended since the restaurant tends to get busier in the night contributing to its convenient accessibility (2-minute drive from residences in Indirapuram). The restaurant offers a wide variety of Thai and Chinese soups, traditional Chop Suey, and a selection of mocktails, however the restaurant does not serve alcohol. Kung Pao chicken from the menu is a specialty here. Ambience is up to the mark, service is satisfactory. Rating: 3.5/5 Name of the restaurant: Parikrama, The Revolving Restaurant Restaurant link: https://www.zomato.com/ncr/ardor-2-1-connaught-place-new-delhi A. Parikrama, The Revolving Restaurant, just as the name suggests is a restaurant built on a platform that revolves, allowing the guests to behold the scenic view from the top. About 12 minutes from the outer circle of Connaught Place, the restaurant offers classics from the North Indian cuisine, a bar, and courteous service. However, the panoramic view that the restaurant offers hardly makes it for the very average quality of food that is served. One should expect about 20-30 minutes of waiting time if not arriving with a reservation. Miscellaneous facilities the restaurant offers includes valet parking. An overall decent experience. Rating: 3.5/5 B. Parikrama The Revolving Restaurant offers a breath-taking view of the best of New Delhi’s Connaught place, being situated on the 24th floor. The recommended time to dine here is at the night when one can see the beauty the central Delhi cityscape has to offer. It is recommended that one reserves seats beforehand in order to avoid long queues as the restaurant is immensely popular amongst tourists. The ambience offers and ideal environment for business dinners as well as casual family gatherings. One must experience the Mughlai cuisine’s delight, Murg Tikka Reshmi while at the place. Service is prompt, responsive and courteous. A visit to the place may set you back about two or three thousand rupees, for a full-course meal. Rating: 4/5 Name of the restaurant: Ardor 2.1, Connaught Place, New Delhi Restaurant link: https://www.zomato.com/ncr/ardor-2-1-connaught-place-new-delhi

A. Ardor 2.1, situated in the heart of New Delhi provides for your requirement in Continental and North Indian food. The place provides an ideal setting for a casual dinner with friends or family. One usually would want to head here for their special Vegetable Lajawab. Service quality is decent, accessibility may be dicey if one is headed to Ardor 2.1 on a busy weekend since the parking in Connaught Place are mostly brimming with traffic. All in all, a decent restaurant with decent prices. Rating: 3.5/5 B. Providing one with perks such as free wi-fi, valet parking, and rooftop dining, Ardor 2.1 seriously lags in the food and service department. A casual visit on a weekend revealed their subpar service quality and below average quality of food. One may find themselves struggling to get their orders across since the restaurant is understaffed. Our experience of the restaurant has not been decent. It’s recommended that one rather goes for Barbeque Nation right next door offering better food and service quality. Rating: 2.5/5 Name of the restaurant: Threesixty, The Oberoi, New Delhi Restaurant link: https://www.zomato.com/ncr/360%C2%B0-the-oberoi-zakir-hussain-margnew-delhi A. Threesixty from The Oberoi in New Delhi is a foodie’s paradise in every aspect imaginable. From delectable Japanese appetizers such as the Miso Shiru to Thai mains like Phad Phak Krathium, and to finally bring one home with the traditional Indian Raslmalai, the restaurant covers the best of every cuisine it offers with a dash of their own flavour. The services leave no room for complains and will serve you with a disposed and willing demeanour. The restaurant corrects for its expense by serving complimentary items from the menu with every order. Threesixty, leading the luxury restaurants in New Delhi from the front, receives five stars for its impeccable food and service. Rating: 5/5 B. If food were music, then the food made by Chefs at Threesixty, The Oberoi, New Delhi would be Beethoven. If a world-class ambience, top-notch quality of service does not please you enough, then the luscious and succulent multi-cuisine food at Threesixty will. The fine-dining restaurant offers a full-bar, delicacies ranging from Japanese in the East to American in the far west, excelling at every dish they bring to your table. The ambience provides for formal as well as casual dining. Threesixty excels not only during the night time, but also offers a wide range of selection in their breakfast menu. For a typical Delhiite, Threesixty is the place for fine dining over other restaurants in the city. Rating: 4.5/5...
