SWOT ANALYSIS What is SWOT analysis? SWOT Analysis can be define as a useful technique for understanding our strengths and weaknesses, and for identifying both the Opportunities open to you and the threats that we will face in our business soon

STRENGTH Our first strength is good facilities. All the self-service laundries around the Malaysia nowadays are now upgrading their facilities. This is because to attract more customers to come and use their service. This also happens in our laundry. Since we used the term “lepak” for our business, we provide all what people need while they wait for their clothes to be done. The facilities that we’re provided in our laundries are such vending machine (foods and drinks), high speed wifi (basically the new internet plan that using fibre optic cable, TIME), 50’ high definition television, playstation 4 and others. So with all of those facilities, we hope that we can reach our target which is we target 1000 customers will visit per month. Second is our self-service laundry located near to the housing area. To open a business we need to see about the geophysical environment first. To open a business like we do right now that near to the housing area is the most brilliant idea ever. People nowadays don’t have time to wash and dry their clothes at home due to do not have enough time and working is the main reason why they do so. In addition, it’s also easy for them to leave their clothes for a while (customer who didn’t want to wait in our laundry), go home and go back to the laundry to pick their clothes back after finish. Means here they only need to travel in short distance. We chose Bukit Jelutong and Denai Alam which are near to the housing area for our business. Third is cheaper. The prices of self-service laundries around Malaysia are different according to the places. Some of it expensive and some of it are cheaper. Because of our 1000 customers target per month, we need to make our services cheaper as possible but still we can gain profits. So our washing service cost about RM 3 per wash only and drying service cost about RM 4 per dry which is standard price for drying. The main reason the prices are cheap is because our company has a new state-of-the-art washers which will dispense free detergents, softeners and germicides. Fourth is our laundry is suitable for a place to hang out with families or friends since both of our laundries located at corner lot shop plus we have all the hang out facilities as mentioned above in our laundry. While they’re waiting for their clothes to be done, they can socialize

with other customers. They also can enjoy our mini-restaurant while waiting for their clothes as we are using a new Japanese vending machine of food and beverages so that the customers can chow down with the food and beverages offered. The last one is improved technology. All of our washing machine in our laundry using the latest technology (future and advance). With all of those machines, it can make our business run efficient and effective. The machines also have the build in anti-bacterial treatment inside of it. Beside the “lepak” moto, we also used “say no to bacteria” moto for our business. The anti-bacterial washing machines can eradicate more than 99.9% of bacteria. Means here it will make the washing environment more hygienic.

WEAKNESS Our first weakness is lack of washing machines and dryers. We only have 14 washing machines and 6 dryers total in our laundry. With that limited machines, it can’t afford when on peak hour. Peak hour in Bukit Jelutong and Denai Alam is on weekends and raining season. Too many customers come to our laundry at the same time on that day causing a little bit havoc in our laundry. They need to wait for their turn. Second weakness which is lack of seats can relate with that situation when on peak hour. They need to find a place to sit while waiting their clothes, basically on the tiles or around the laundry or empty space in the laundry. This situation can affect our business which we will face the losing of our customers. Third is our laundry is located near to the well-established laundry. The well-established laundry in Bukit Jelutong near to us is clean pro (opened 3 months ago) and Denai Alam is Drop Wash (opened 2 months ago). Even though both of them are still new in our area, they have a lot of branches around Malaysia which mean that they’re well-established enough. This situation also can affect our business. People ofcourse will trust the well-established one than the new one. It’s all because of the people mind-set, the established business is much better than the new one. Fourth is lack of parking spaces. Since the Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) didn’t provide a lot of parking spaces at our location, the parking there always full all of the time during daytime. Our customers need to park far away from our laundry and that will inconvenience our customers to come to our laundry. To overcome that problem, we’re now in process to rent some parking spaces in front of our laundry for our customers. Lastly is lack of workers. Since two person who responsible in each laundry at this moment (still new in this business), it is difficult for us to satisfy all customers need / clean the shop

and all the machines / call the technician if some machines damage. We’re now open for hiring the new workers which responsible to clean / repair the machines on the spot.

OPPORTUNITIES Our first opportunity is we can get new customers. When we add new type of services to our portfolio or move into new markets, we can bring in previously untapped customer markets. Reaching out to these new customers with expansion is one thing, but capturing them for long-term relationship building is primary. Growing a loyal customer base is the best way to achieve stable and growing profits over time. In addition, if the other laundries customer unsatisfied with their services, they of course will find other laundry to try out. So we can get new customers from there. If they satisfy with our services, they will become our loyal customers for sure. After that, opening new branches is also one of our opportunities. Opening new branches or expanding business (other words) is the one of the entrepreneur our founder’s dream. In order to achieve our goal “to be the best self-service laundry company in Malaysia or even Asia by the year 2020”, we need to open our branches as many as possible. At this moment we only have two branches and we plan to open our 3rd branch next December. When we open many branches, it indirectly will expose our business to a wider audience. This increased pool of potential customers can dramatically improve sales, resulting in increased profitability. Customers, like employees, are important in operating a successful company. Expansion, when done properly, can place the company in the forefront of many customers' minds. Next is new investor. An investor is any person who commits capital with the expectation of financial returns. Investors utilize investments in order to grow their money and/or provide an income during retirement, such as with an annuity. Since our business gain a lot of profits or in other word is success, other company in or outside Malaysia will automatically wanted to invest in our company. Since our success rate is also increasing now, our investor they will get their return back fast. Fourthly is good deal with our suppliers. Negotiating a better deal with your suppliers can be one of the best ways to grow your profits, but it takes skill, diplomacy, and a bit of thought to pull it off. Supply costs are one of the major costs associated with running a business, but having this cost lowered takes a bit of preparation. In order to deal with our suppliers, we always keep focus to having a good communication with them, become their loyal customer,

offering larger deposit, we always make sure that we’re both on the same page (both agree with the terms and condition) and pay to our suppliers on time. Because of those factors, we also can get discount from them. Lastly is new competition. Since we have to compete with other laundries shop at our location, we need to compete with them in good ways. Competition can make us think more innovatively which is necessary for the growth of our business. As there is no other go for your customers, our service might get a boost in the market though customers are not actually satisfied with your service. Quality of service is a key to customer satisfaction. When competitors are around us, we would be forced to provide better quality service. This will lead to more customer satisfaction which of course benefits us in long term. As far as there is high competition, we will get better information about customer preferences or requirements. When our competitors make more profit than us, it means that they have adopted some great techniques to attract customers. It could be better service, low prices etc. So, we can study strategies that our competitors adopted which makes them successful. Thus, we can easily know the pulse of our customers and this can be utilized to make our business successful.

THREATS First threat that we’re facing is insurance plan for business keep increasing year by year. All people who doing business right now need insurance to cover their business in case anything like accidents, disaster, illness happen. In Malaysia, due to the new tax (GST) that the government implemented on April 2014, all the insurance agensies around Malaysia start to increase their plan. Then, we’re also facing with the new government policies toward business. This also same like the insurance plan, they always change it year by year. So we need to be alert with this situation. It also can make us difficult to achieve our goal on time. After that is economic problem. Malaysia is currently facing some real challenges, over and above lower oil prices, the falling value of the ringgit, and a slowdown in the rate of economic growth. The challenges as stated obviously will affect our business. One of the most frequent problems is that economic decisions can have external effects on other people not involved in the transaction. For example, if you produce power from coal, the pollution affects people all over the world (acid rain, global warming). This is a particular problem because we cannot rely on the free market to provide the most efficient outcome. If we create negative externalities, we don’t take them into account when deciding how much to consume. High inflation can be a serious problem if prices rise faster than wages and

nominal interest rates. In periods of rapidly rising prices, people with savings will see a decline in their real wealth. If prices rise faster than wages, then people’s spending power will decline. Also, rapidly rising prices creates confusion and uncertainty and can cause firms to cut back on investment and spending. Countries which have experienced hyper-inflation have seen it as a very traumatic period because all the economic certainty is washed away, leaving people without any certainty. In addition, when the economic problem occur, some of our un-wealthy customer of course they will wash all their clothes at home than at our shop because no need to expense more money. Fourthly is high competition. Since the self-service laundry grow like mushrooms in Malaysia, it is hard for us to become a competitive company. This is because our company still new in self-service business compare to other well-established companies. In order to be a competitive company, we need to think the ways how to realize it. The ways like know the competition, know our customers, increase our marketing, update our image, target new market, always make promotions and look for the future are currently we’re doing to be a competitive company so that our aims to be the best self-service laundry company in Malaysia or even Asia by the year 2020 can be achieve. Lastly but not least is the rate of rental machines increase. We have to rent all the machines not because we cannot afford it or our business still new, but if we buy it we cannot cover our capital nor profits back. That’s why we rent it. Because of our successful rate keep increasing every month, the owner of the properties cannot let us walk away with our profits that we’ve gained. They also increase their rental rate. Due to that also we have to change from other renter to other renter each year (means that the machines always change every year)....
