Laser Security System

ABSTRACT This paper deals with design, build and test a home security system using laser diode and buzzer for alarming by sending text message over telegram. This system is very and its design is very simple, ease of use and also reliable. In addition of sending text message to owner it also produce sound so that our neighbours got active that someone want to theft at my home. Its can also being used at small shops.

INTRODUCTION Need of security is the basic necessity of any individual. The feeling that we are safe and everything around us is all right is imperative for peaceful living. But in this unsafe world, when crime, terror and threats are on their peak, how can one attain that sense of security? Here, home security system using laser provides us a solution and for this reason more and more people are installing them in order to stay safe and secure. Various electronic security systems can be used at home and other important working places for security and safety purposes.

Laser security system is a device used for security purposes. It has a wide application in the fields of security and defense starting from the security of a simple household material to a very high valued material of an organization. They once used to be expensive solutions for security needs. Owing to cost cutting and fast technological advancements, this form of security system is becoming more affordable.

OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE OF THE SYSTEM The main objective of this system is to design a home security system with laser and light dependent resistor, which will protect the individuals from crime, terror and threats in unsafe world in order to stay safe and secure.

PROBLEM ANALYSIS Easily Visible System The first negative is that the system for this type of security is actually very visible. There are boxes, reflectors and a whole lot more that need to be set up and each of those things is likely going to be easily spotted by someone that wants to cause trouble or break into your home. That means they’re going to know the system is there and they’re going to know where each unit is as well. For some, this can be a deterrent and you may not mind the system being easily noticed but other people want their security system to be more hidden and this could be a compromise.

METHOD AND METHODLOGIES

• The key element of this circuit is the LDR. This is because the resistance of the LDR has an inverse relation with the intensity of light i.e., the resistance of the LDR increases with the decrease in the intensity of light and viceversa. • The above circuit is connected to the power supply and the Bolt WIFI Module is connected to the Ubuntu server via the internet. When the laser is switched on, the laser beam falls on the LDR. Since, maximum intensity is received, the resistance of the LDR is minimum. Hence, voltage across it is minimum. This is because of Ohm’s law which states that the voltage across any element in the circuit is directly proportional to the resistance of that element. (V=IR) • When the laser beam is obstructed, the LDR will receive very low or no light (depending on the amount of obstruction created). Hence, its resistance will increase, which in turn increases the voltage across it. When the voltage across the LDR is above the cut-off voltage of the transistor (in the WIFI

module), the transistor is turned on. This makes the current flow to the buzzer, which buzzes for a certain amount of time (here it is about 15 seconds). • Also, a message will be sent across Telegram stating that the alarm has been activated. • When the laser beam is restored (the obstruction is removed), the light intensity is increased and in turn the resistance of LDR decreases, hence the voltage across it is below the cut-off voltage of the transistor. Thus, the transistor is turned off. This makes the buzzer stop making noise. Hardware components • • • • • • • • •

LIMITATION OF HOME SECURITY SYSTEM WITH LASER False Alarm These security systems are prone to false alarms that involve the alarm ringing when anyone from your family enters the restricted area. Or there are instances when the alarm is triggered by itself without any reason Expensive Both, wireless and hardwired alarm systems are expensive to install. They require an initial investment, which includes equipment cost, installation, and subscription of security monitoring service. • The laser security system works only if the laser is obstructed. If the intruder passes without obstructing the laser, it is considered as a failure. • In order to secure a larger area, we need more lasers and corresponding sensors.

CONCLUSION Laser security system provides us the security against any crime, theft in our day to day life and so people are installing them in order to stay safe, secure and sound. Various electronic system can be used at home and other important working places for security and safety purposes. It is a great opportunity and sources of saving man power contributing no wastage electricity. The laser security system is an important helping system. Using this system robbery, thefts & crime can be avoided to large extend. Avoiding thieves results in the safety of our financial assets and thereby this system provides us protection against all. Future Prospects • We will try to upgrade this system to an advanced level by using invisible laser or infrared light • We can also use microcontroller or some timer IC circuit to make the performance of this system better. • Also with the help of sound sensing transducer, photo footage can be captured using secret camera as soon as the alarm ring.
