wheezing,dry nonproductive cough dyspne,paroxymal cough,mucus plugs and atelectasis on x-ray,cyanosis,barrel-shaped chest,clubbing of fingers and toes,multiple episodes of bronchitis or bronchopneumonia large,loose,fatty,sticky,foul-smelling stools voracious appetite(early),loss of appetite(late) failure to gain weight or weight loss distened abdomen thin legs and arms deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins sweat tears,and saliva are abnormally salty viscous cervical mucous decreased or absent sperm

Diagnostic Procedures

CBC,CRP,nutritional panel,blood glucose,CMP,ABGs Sputum culture for detection of infection stool analysis

sweat chloride testchloride less than 40 mEq/L DNA testing to isolate mutation Pulmonary Function Tests(PFTs) Chest x-ray abdominal x-ray detect meconium ileus
