WELCOME Welcome to MMM343 Business Ethics!

The unit is led by Ambika Zutshi. The unit team has extensive experience in the area of ethics and we are delighted to h you with us on this journey. As you progress through the unit, you will realise that the elements of business ethics are evident in our every day lives, both in a personal and a professional way. You will also identify the ways in which your o has been formed over the years, as well as the people (including the various media sources) that have influenced your thoughts and decision-making process.

As individuals we use our past and current experiences, observations and knowledge to make informed decisions. Our will encourage you to explore the Business Ethics issues surrounding all our lives and to examine them from perspectiv multiple stakeholders.

This unit is not designed to 󰜙convert󰜚 you to a particular way of thinking, but to help you to create your own perspective this area. The unit uses extensive practical examples to challenge you to consider a range of issues of importance to bu and to get you to form your own opinions on these issues at hand. To help you through the theoretical and conceptua material of Business ethics, you will also need to purchase a copy of the required textbook Ferrell/ Fraedrich/ Ferrell, Business Ethics: Ethical Decision Making & Cases, Cengage (11th edition). Unit Site and Online Communication

The Unit site for this unit contains much of the information, articles, class slides, discussion board and suchlike that you need to be accessing alongside the required textbook to complete this unit. A member of the unit team will try their b respond to your unit site queries within 48 hours (except on the weekends or public holidays). The same applies for em messages.

All unit related questions should be posted on the discussion board site. If, however, you need to communicate somet that it would not be appropriate to place on the public discussion board (for example illness, or other personal issues th may affect your unit work) then please email the Unit Chair. ABOUT THIS UNIT

This unit aims to develop students' awareness of the role that ethical issues play in business life, in particular, business formulation and implementation; management policy formulation and implementation; and employee rights and oblig It also aims to develop students' ability to critically analyse ethical issues which arise in business life.

Unit development in response to student feedback
