Task description Prepare a Project Plan and Project Schedule for a project, situated in a business setting that you developed over the last weeks. (Note that your project needs to be different from that selected for assessment 1 and practiced in the tutorial (i.e. it cannot be a Charity run)). The Project Plan should contain similar scoping information to those in Charter, but it should go further and offer sub-plans in Communication, Risk, Procurement, HR, Budget, and Termination, as required by your project to get the work done. The plan should also include aspects of sustainability and/or social responsibility evident in the project planning documents. Your Project Schedule should contain at least 50 tasks and have the basics of WBS, Milestones, Gantt Chart, and Critical Path. It is unlikely that less than 50 tasks would provide us enough confidence that the project is clearly defined. We also suggest that the schedule has fewer than 80 tasks, as more tasks than this this will unnecessarily complicate your work. Structure of the Project Plan We recommend the following structure of your Project Plan: − − − − − − − − − −

Project purpose (scope statement) Project Business Case Assumptions and constraints Deliverables and Milestones Project success criteria Roles and responsibilities (HR Plan) Project budget Risk Management Plan Project Communication Plan Project Procurement Plan

− −

− −

Project Termination including lessons learned A separate section that discusses how the project ensures socially responsible and/or sustainable behaviours and practices needs to be provided. − These may include practices such as: ensuring employees safety and wellbeing, selecting products and services which have lower environmental impacts compared with competing products and services, selecting fair-trade suppliers, using of biproducts whenever possible, involving charities, engaging with local businesses and produces and so on. Project Schedule should be prepared in Project Libre and submitted as a Project Libre file (.pod). Do not attach appendices.

Make your own judgement on how you want to format your Project Plan, but make sure that the document looks professional and business-like. •

3000 word limit (+/- 10%) (excluding title page and bibliography).

Submission requirements This assignment should be submitted in two files: •

Project Plan should be submitted as an MS Word file (.doc or .docx) or a PDF file (.pdf).

Project Schedule should be submitted as Project Libre file (.pod). Do not convert your project schedule into a PDF file (.pdf).
