TED Speech – Peer Evaluation Form (5 points) 1. Please print out a copy of this document on your assigned peer evaluating day. 2. The purpose of doing a peer evaluation is to practice critical listening skills while also providing your peer with an additional perspective of their performance. Use these questions as a guide for what to listen for in the speech and be sure to be as detailed as possible. 3. This assignment will be turned in during the following class session that immediately follows the class when the evaluated speech was completed. You will use this document as your notes for writing a ½ - 1 page paper using MLA format for your peer. How well did it function? Did it make you want to listen? Why or why not? Did it clearly establish what the speech was going to be about? How? Could it be improved? How? Why?
Organization: Was the content of the speech organized, clear, and easy to understand? How well were you able to clearly hear and identify the main points? How effective were the transitions between the major sections? How could it be improved? Why would these improvements be important?
Conclusion: What was effective about the conclusion? Why? Did it leave you feeling fulfilled? Did it summarize the speech effectively? How could it have potentially been improved?
Content: Was the information presented clear? Interesting? Memorable? Were all the claims made supported by sufficient details? Was the language used appropriate and easy to understand? What could the speaker have done to make the content more impactful and relatable? Why would these improvements be important?
Performance: What were the greatest strengths for this speaker overall? How was their vocal performance? Their physical performance? What can the speaker work on for next time with regard to delivery and performance? Why would that be important?...
