I have acquired the skills and knowledge to help support these individuals in the struggles they endure everyday. I have a bachelor’s degree in nursing (Nigeria) and Certificate in health care aide and I have the ability to help these clients cope with their disabilities and overcome some of the difficulties they deal with daily. I can help them accomplish the simple tasks that most people take for granted. This helps to give them a little independence that can greatly enhance their quality of life. I have the skills and a real desire to help these people develop socially and to teach them how to care for themselves. I have the education and training to provide these individuals with advice and I can help to guide them in the right direction as they learn different activities. I can help them gain the confidence they need to form relationships with others and to have a personal life where they can get out and enjoy things like sports, going to a theater or simply going for a stroll in the public park. My career experiences have given me a deep understanding of mental health issues and their impact on clients and families. I am passionate about contributing my skills and knowledge to those in the Alberta community living with mental health issues.
