Summary for the movie “The Billionaire” The movie started out with a young 16 year old boy named Itthipat Peeradechapan or better known as Tob.

At the beginning of the movie, we can see that he was a video game

addict. He earned quite a large sum of money monthly from doing so thus neglecting his studies in favour of the game tournaments. His account later got deleted. To pay for his school fess, he purchased DVD players in bulk in hopes to sell them to others too make money but later found them to be all faulty. When he demanded a refund from the seller, he was scolded for being foolish and chased away. His father told him to take it as a lesson to not be so foolish anymore saying that the real world is cruel. Top felt defeated but it was seen that he was not ready to give up. Later in the movie, we can see that he rented a chestnut making machine and proceeded to sell chestnuts. Before doing so, it is seen that he was doing research and surveying the way other vendors were cooking it. He changed his location after there was no customers at the previous ones, no doubt was the business picking up but he was soon faced with a dilemma. During his school examination, he chose to pick up a call which resulted in his examination to be forfeited. This shows that he was more committed to his business. It was all going well for a while but the chestnut machine dirtied the roof and caused a lot of inconvenience to the surrounding vendors, leading the mall no choice but to terminate the contract. Another hurdle arose when his parents told him that they would move to China as they were bankrupt and remained in 40 million Baht debt. While driving in the car with his girlfriend beside him, she gave him a piece of seaweed snack that wasn’t available in Thailand. He used that as an opportunity to make it with his uncle. After many failed attempts, his uncle asked him if it was time to stop as they had already wasted so much time and money (200,000 Baht). Top did not give up and he proceeded to sell off all his computers and chestnut machines. He succeeded after so many failed attempts. He then approached 7-eleven to distribute his product. After waiting there for half a day, his product was rejected as the packaging and design was too big for the shelves. After receiving that feedback, he redesigned his product packaging and was accepted by 7-eleven. Top later went to the bank for a loan but was rejected because of his age and family debt. After hearing that, he felt defeated and was ready to quit and move to China with his family. Before leaving, he went back to the pawn shop to retrieve the amulet owned by his father that he pawned. He later found out that that what he got was so much

less that what that amulet was worth. He used that as motivation and did not give up, he later remembered that his family had an old warehouse and converted it into a small manufacturing factory. After everything was done, the 7-eleven employees where sent down to the factory to inspect weather they adhered to the GMP (Goods Manufacturing Practices). His uncle proceeded to say that they would not pass and asked Top to bribe them, Top refused to do so as he learnt his lesson from a previous incident. After some hiccups, he passed the GMP test and his product was distributed to 7-eleven branches worldwide. The brand Tao Kae Noi has become one of the most successful businesses were Top was even featured in Forbes Thailand to be the youngest people to be on there with a net worth estimated at $600 million. This shows us that despite all the challenges and setback Top faced in building his empire, he did not give up. He also listened to others feedback on his product in hopes to making it better. He succeeded because of his pure grit and determination; his hunger to start a business and the amount of commitment he has. Had he listened to others and neglected what he truly wants, he would not be where he is today - A successful, passionate and brilliant Entrepreneur that inspirers millions around the world....
