Plot to the giver...
Exposition The main characters are as following. Jonas, Mom & Dad, Lily, and Asher. The setting at the beginning of the story is the following. A community of some sort.
Rising Action We find out that there are certain age groups and each age group has the same items, clothes, and privileges as one another. We also learn about the community’s strict rules. If one were to break a major rule then they would be released or banished. Another thing is that they are very picky with precise language. Also, people are assigned jobs (spouses and kids). Finally, everyone takes a pill to prevent them from loving people. Jonas himself, thinks that this community is perfect.
Climax Jonas is selected to be the receiver. He is given memories of happiness, pain, and love. After he received a memory of love, he stopped taking his pick.
Conflict Jonas wants the community to be just like his memories, but it is nothing similar.
Falling Action Jonas decides to release the memories to everyone, so he runs away taking a baby with him. His goal was to make it to a place that is like our world, earth.
Resolution Staving and week, Jonas and the baby continue until he finds a sled on top of a hill. He slides down and sees the lights of a town.
