Taylor Woolstenhulme Mrs. Pence English 175 February 11, 2014 Thesis Statements 1997: The scene in the play Romeo and Juliet b y Shakespeare when Romeo and Juliet first meet at a party is a main point in the play because it shows an example of the society from when they lived and it sets in motion events for the rest of the play.
Hamlet by Shakespeare is a prime example of how social occasions can change a story because of the funeral for Ophelia and how it shows people and how they acted towards death in that time period.
2003: Antigone i s a story of the epic tragic life of Creon and how his tragic life has a major effect on all the characters around him, such as Antigone, Ismene, Polyneices, Eteocles, and Haimon, and how that adds to the severity of the tragedy in this story.
1994: During the play The Importance of being Earnest by Oscar Wilde the character Lane has a very small acting part in the play but he has a very large effect on the readers view on some of
the other characters such as Algernon.
In the short story To Build a Fire by Jack London the presence, or lack, of the campsite that the main character is trying to get to changes drastically the actions of the main character to calm to frantic.
1982: In Hamlet b y William Shakespeare the action of Hamlet kills Polonius thinking that is was his hate stepfather Claudius changed the meaning of the story as a whole because it showed that Hamlet was willing to kill Claudius even though it had seemed that he would not be able to do it and that he was more true to his word to his father than thought.
In Antigone t he first thing that happens is the violent action of two brothers, Polyneices and Eteocles, when they kill each other so they could be king and by doing this it sets in motion what is to happen in the rest of the story and shows how people acted and acted during that time period....
