February 18, 2022 Dear School Community, We would like to inform you that we received confirmation of 3 positive cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the Mira Costa High School site this week (February 14, 15 and 17, 2022). Close contacts of these positive cases have been contacted. If you have not been personally notified then you are not considered a close contact. A close contact is defined as being within 6 feet for an accumulation of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. Regardless, it is wise to monitor yourself daily for COVID-19 symptoms. If you or your student develops symptoms of COVID-19, it is important that you begin self-isolation (see Home Isolation Instructions) and get a PCR or molecular COVID-19 test. If you are not already enrolled, I encourage you to register to participate in on-site weekly COVID-19 testing program for staff and students; you can find the registration form here. Additional resources may include your personal medical provider or by dialing 211. If your symptoms become severe, seek medical advice for further guidance. Please remain in good communication with our office in this circumstance so that we can work together to ensure the safety of both your student and the rest of our school community. If you need to report a positive COVID-19 case for a Mira Costa student, please send that information directly to this form. As the COVID-19 situation in our country and our community is evolving, we urge you to take necessary precautions to limit coronavirus spread in our community. This is a good time to remember to carefully read and accurately answer all questions on the RUVNA prescreening before reporting to school. We also ask you to maintain physical distance by staying 6 feet away from others and to practice good hygiene by washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, staying home when you are sick, and wearing a mask or face covering over both the nose and the mouth. Ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and our educational environment is of greatest importance to us. For additional questions about Coronavirus in Los Angeles County, please visit the LA County Department of Public Health coronavirus webpage at COVID-19 Media Page - LA County Department of Public Health. Sincerely,
Karina Gerger Ed.D. Principal Mira Costa High School...
