As there is a lot of rubber bands , or what we call as “lastiko”, in our house because of my brother and nieces , I thought of an idea of why not make it into something that is not usually how a rubber band is used or played with; and that is to make a Chinese garter. Chinese garter is one of the games that many girls, and even boys, enjoyed playing before; and it is also one of my personal favorites during my elementary years . Chinese garter is a long rubber band held by the two members that everyone in the game must beat . And as the game goes on, the elastic also rises which gives the children a sense of challenge. Flexibility and agility are the two things needed in this game. It tests the proper use of our balance and jumping skills. All the games before, including Chinese garter, may let children exercise and be healthy, but that is not the only essence of all the Pinoy games we played. The true essence of these games is to be able to make children laugh and smile uncontrollably; and to see the innocence of these children is very much alive, where it seems to them that the world has no problem at all....
