Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarahkatuh. First at all, give thanks for Allah and grace for us. Thanks to Allah for helping me and give me chance to finish this assighment timely. And I would like to say thank you to Drs. Zainuddin Cangara, MA as the lecturer that always teaches us and give much knowledge about how to practice english well. This assighment is the one of english task that composed of practical english usage english as second language. I realized this assighment is not perfect, but I hope it can be useful for us. Critics and Suggestion is needed here to make this assighment be better. Hopefully we as a student in “Makassar Higher School of Economics (STIEM)” can work more professional by using english as the second language whatever we done. Thank you.

INTRODUCE Good morning, My Friends. I am so happy to see you in this occasion. Well, my name is Elsye Sitinjak. I come from Metro. I was born in Medan, on October 22th, 1992. My family and I live at Jengkol street number 25, Kedaton, Bandar Lampung. My hobby is singing and shopping. I really love music. Even, I have a dream to be a famous and great singer. I I ever won first winner in singing contest when I was 15 years old. Teaching is the other thing that I love. Since I study at English Department, I began to teach kids around my house. *Present Tense Simple Present Tense means the tense of a verb that expresses action or state in the present time and is used of what occurs or is true at the time of speaking and of what is habitual or characteristic or is always or necessarily true, that is sometimes used to refer to action in the past, and that is sometimes used for future events Simple Present Tense adalah suatu bentuk kata kerja untuk menyatakan fakta, kebiasaan, atau kejadian yang terjadi pada saat ini. PRESENT TENSE & PAST TENSE FORMULA (INA/ING)

Penjelasan Rumus: S + V-1 Penggunaan:

Contoh Kalimat Simple Present Tense  We agree with the speaker’s opinion. (Kami setuju dengan opini pembicara.)  She is so beautiful. (Dia sangat cantik.)

Simple present tense untuk menyatakan fakta, kebiasaan, dan kejadian yang terjadi pada saat sekarang ini. Present Continuous Tense  I’m driving a car to Bandung now. Rumus: (Saya sedang menyetir mobil ke Bandung sekarang.) S + am/is/are + present participle/V-ing  The buses are arriving in an hour. (Bus-bus tersebut tiba dalam satu Penggunaan: jam.) Present continuous tense untuk membicarakan aksi yang sedang berlangsung sekarang atau rencana dimasa depan. Present Perfect Tense  I’ve read this book. Rumus: (Saya sudah membaca buku ini.)  I have lived in Cilegon for 3 months. S + have/has + past participle/V-3 (Saya telah tinggal di Cilegon selama 3 bulan.) Penggunaan: Present perfect tense digunakan untuk mengungkapkan suatu aktivitas atau situasi yang telah dimulai di masa lalu dan telah selesai pada suatu titik waktu tertentu di masa lalu atau masih berlanjut sampai sekarang. Present Perfect Continuous Tense

Rumus: S + have/has + been + present participle/Ving Penggunaan:





The toddlers have been playing a ball for an hour. (Balita-balita itu telah bermain bola selama satu jam.) The construction labors are thirsty since they have been removing the scaffoldings. (Pekerja konstruksi haus karena mereka telah memindahkan perancah.)

Present perfect continuous tense untuk mengungkapkan aksi yang telah selesai pada suatu titik dimasa lampau atau aksi telah dimulai di masa lalu dan terus berlanjut sampai sekarang. Biasanya aksi tersebut ada durasi waktu tertentu dan ada relevansinya dengan kondisi sekarang. Simple Past Tense  The party started at 10.00 a.m. Rumus: (Pesta dimulai jam 10 pagi.) S + V-2 Penggunaan:

Simple past tense untuk menunjukkan bahwa suatu kejadian terjadi di masa lampau. Past Continuous Tense  The team was playing basketball all Rumus: day yesterday. (Tim bermain basket sepanjang hari S + was/were + present participle/V-ing kemarin.) Penggunaan: Past continuous tense digunakan untuk mengungkapkan bahwa suatu aksi sedang terjadi pada waktu tertentu di masa lampau. Past Perfect Tense  When he came last night, the Rumus: cake had run out. (Ketika dia datang semalam, kue S + had + past participle/V-3 sudah habis.) Penggunaan: Past perfect tense untuk menyatakan bahwa suatu aksi telah selesai pada suatu titik di masa lalu sebelum aksi lainnya terjadi. Past Perfect Continuous Tense

Rumus: S + had + been + present participle/V-ing Penggunaan: Past perfect continuous tense digunakan untuk mengungkapkan suatu aksi (dengan durasi waktu tertentu) telah selesai pada suatu titik waktu tertentu dimasa lalu.



The labors had been demonstrating for an hour when the manager came. (Pekerja telah berdemonstrasi selama satu jam ketika manager datang.)
