What does it do in the immune system?

Leukocytes

They look out for dangerous cells

antigens

They are cells that invade

pathogens

They send macrophages and dendritic cells into the blood

Consume the invader and the damaged cells

lymphocytes

They are two different types of cells

t-cells

They go in search of the bad cells and kill them off

Helper t-cells

They produce special proteins called antibodies.

b-cells

They attack the invading cells until the worst of the threat is neutralized
