Chelsea Brice Mrs. Cuellar US 1100 11 September 2020 Writing Center Exploration In school writing a paper is one of the most essential learning tools needed for college and beyond. Throughout school, teachers oftentimes did not spend enough time discussing writing a professional paper which left many students to teach themselves. At Texas State, students are blessed with the opportunity of a free mentor service for their writing at The Writing Center. Students are able to receive free tutoring from graduate English majors who are very knowledgeable about writing professional papers. They also offer workshops which offer students a more in-depth look into writing a paper. Essay contests are a fun aspect of the Writing Center . They are held once or twice every month and the prizes can range from gift cards to money. The Writing Center is located at ASBN 100 and its hours are Monday-Wednesday: 10am7pm; Thursday: 10am-6pm; Friday: 10am-4pm. Because of COVID-19 the writing center is not available for in person use at this time. Zoom appointments are available to be made during their business hours. The Writing Center is one of the most useful resources at Texas State. They operate in a very student-friendly way allowing everybody to be able to use this resource. The graduates at the writing center want every student that comes to them for help to succeed in their classes that require papers to be written. They know that college is a challenging time full of new experiences especially for freshman. Learning how to budget time saves many students grades....
