What Am I? Integrated Geography, History, Science, Creative Arts and English Unit of Work

1. Review of Knowledge/ Introduction to the Topic. ST2-4LW-S; GE2-4; EN2-11D

Driving Question: How can we describe the world around us? Rich Assessment Task: At the conclusion of this unit, students will amalgamate their work to design their own ‘Native Australian Animal’. Students will merge three chosen Australian animals to create a new species. Their creation will be specific to their chosen State/Territory. Students will create a 3D visual design of their animal, the habitat in which it lives and specific features and characteristics it has inherited. Students will design a series of ‘What am I?’ questions to align with their creation, to accurately describe its features, its location and its significance in Australia. To conclude the task, the class will take part in a guessing game to identify the different animals combined in each students creation.
